:: of mice and men.... ::jufFeNder 5/23/2008 10:37:00 PM

sometimes and just sometimes you just wish that life is much much easier. then again, where's the challenge if everything's pretty much served up? work has been on the uphill and we're stuck on the ramming the first gear. it kinda sucks when the system is flawed and your views of betterment kinda get ditched and placed aside like you just don't matter.

through my years in working with people, i believe that leadership is very important. you have got to have good leaders, if not exceptional leaders to instill that drive in the members under you. well, even though the men have great attitude, but with sucky directions which raises questions over the leadership, it'll just steer them onto the downhill side of the hill. morale will be affected, mouths will start bitching, work won't come from the heart and everything else will just follow suit and you'll end up with sucky results.

being a leader, you have got to know your stuff. you must have the morale courage to say what is right and not just go with the flow. sometimes, things are just not within your guys' purview, so you just have to say no to the job. yes, there is this theory to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. but to some of the guys, the ordinary workload is already overwhelming. there's no point in taxing them further unless you have the manpower to do it. more work, lesser time to put effort into it will in turn churn out disastrous results.

heart. a very important factor in determining the result of work done. if you don't have the heart, then forget about it. screw everything else and the work done is because you have to do it rather than you want to do it. how does this come to link with leadership? when the orders or instructions are passed down, does the leader actually know the impact of the project on the team? are there other big scaled projects that are currently ongoing and do you have the manpower and resources to support another big scaled project? have you considered the reaction from your men when they receive news that another tidal wave is coming their way? are they floating safely from the previous wave that hit them or are they currently drowning? sometimes i just feel that leaders should always talk to their men. get to know what is going on rather than keep piling all the time.

a lot of things need to be done and when the men are spread thin along the enemy lines, leaders are just placing them at risk of breakdown, or worse, self-quit.

i need my life back. and something needs to be done from the top. i feel that this is the most taxing time of my life and not exams that i've sat for before. i know i've been neglecting my family, my fiancee and my friends. i can't say thank god it's friday anymore cos weekends are burnt with work. it's not fun anymore.

i'm just tired. leaders, for once, do something.
